About the Artist – Gerald McGregor
Gerald McGregor (born 1973) is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artist whose family heritage traces back to Burketown in Far North Queensland and Thursday Island in the Torres Strait.
Over the past two decades, Gerald has developed a distinctive artistic style that blends traditional Indigenous dot and animal motifs with contemporary elements reflecting the perspective of modern urban Aboriginal life in Australia.
His work has been collected by art enthusiasts throughout Australia and internationally, with hundreds of pieces sold worldwide.
Gerald has also designed Aboriginal-themed games and cultural artworks. His game “Serpents & Walking Tracks” was featured in the Macquarie Atlas of Indigenous Australia (2nd Edition) — an honour alongside many respected First Nations athletes, artists, and designers.
